Teachers and professors received a broad show of affection, respect and admiration at the event for the Day of the Educator on the Island of Youth.
In this scenario, the Special Prize of the Ministry of Education was awarded to several teachers for their responsibility in the mission of forming values in the new generations of pine-growers and for their vocation to such a noble work of bringing the light of teaching to Sonia Hernández, The Great Alamedas, Barbara Virgen primary school Ernesto Guevara, Wilfredo Florián, Manuel Ascunse, Rosa María Núñez, Instituto Politécnico de Ciencias Exactas América Lavadí, Dayamí Velázquez Soto, Marta Machado Pedagogical School, Wilmer Ernesto Hernandez, and Daima Batista from the Directorate-General for Education.
The Caribbean cinema hosted the event where several professionals from the sector were also recognized "For the work of a lifetime", Distinction for Cuban Education, Distinction Rafael María Mendive, Distinction Juan Tomás Roy, and teachers who have contributed their experience for 40 years or more without interruption.
The José Rafael Varona primary school, the José Almuiña primary school and the Grandes Alamedas children’s circle were deserving of the status of Colectivos Martianos for their constancy in studying the thought of the national hero José Martí.
The Directorate of Education in the area awarded the Marta Machado Cuní Pedagogical School and Gilma Pupo Rosell, deputy general director of the sector, a special recognition for their contribution to the integral training of future teachers.
The staff dedicated to work in social networks for their work of strength to the educational sector and the impact on transformation in the teaching process, deserved special recognition as well as exemplary educators.
Ramón Sánchez, Raúl Fernández, Inalvis Mazar and Nuris Peña, cadres who transitioned for several years in the general direction of education in the Isla de la Juventud, received the homage of the professionals of the guild, to be able to lead the processes towards new generations of pine-growers.
The work of the Josué País García primary school was exceptionally highlighted, with the 22nd Congress Plate of the CTC, for its contribution to union activity and career in science and sport.
