Thousands of habitants of the Isle of Youth on pilgrimage remembered, this Monday, October 28, Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriarán in the 65th anniversary of his physical disappearance.

Along with the highest political and governmental leadership of the Island of Youth, fighters, students, pioneers, federates and cederistas joined in a compact block to the Malecón where they deposited flowers in the river "Las Casas" to the Lord of the Vanguard, the eternal Commander.

A few minutes earlier in the park that call his name, in the city of Nueva Gerona, the political act was held in tribute to Camilo Cienfuegos.

In the central words, Dainet González Sábado, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the UJC, highlighted the values of the hero, his teachings and example in the missions fulfilled for the revolutionary triumph.

In another part of her speech the youth leader said that Camilo was a humble man, jovial, but he became a charismatic leader, that there must be no inhabitants here who do not know who this hero was who walked through pine streets in February 1959, where he left very precise guidelines.

She said that today with the same heroism that distinguished Camilo we must go out to fight for a better island, in the battle against what was done badly, to work with care at every post, to work for local development to combat and defend what so much blood is cost, To improve the economy, life and society.
