Yosvani Julia Acosta, Delegate of the Institute of Hydraulic Resources in this island, stressed that the reservoirs accumulate a high amount of water, since so far in September, 140 millimeters of rain have fallen, representing 59% of the historical average for this month.

Today, there are 169 million cubic meters of stored water in the reservoirs of the Special Municipality and nine dams are being poured, so the population is urged not to fish or bathe in the spillways of these hydraulic works.

Julia Acosta, insisted on watching each dam for possible rain that would increase in the next few hours. Especially in the Rio del Medio-Las Nuevas basin, where the hydraulic complex is located the link Viet Nam - Rio del Medio, as all are pouring and although they are very safe it is checked.

Therefore, those dwellings under the dams will be monitored for any measures to evacuate that population, also explained that these waters that discharge these reservoirs affect the rice plantations of Ciro Redondo pole by the volume of liquid coming out of the spillway.
